Council of Advisors
Diaspora Peoples’ Place is in the process of forming its first Advisory Council — a circle of cultural workers, organizers, artists, advocates, and community leaders who will help guide the growth of our programs and deepen our impact.
The Advisory Council will serve as a non-governing, non-fiduciary body that offers insight, thought partnership, and cultural grounding as DPP continues to build community-centered events, creative programs, and diaspora-led initiatives.
Purpose of the Council
The Advisory Council will support DPP by:
Providing cultural, creative, and community insight
Strengthening our diasporic storytelling and programming
Offering strategic guidance on events, partnerships, and advocacy
Connecting DPP with artists, organizers, and community organizations
Helping us maintain alignment with our mission and values
The council does not hold legal or financial decision-making power. Its role is consultative and collaborative.
Who Will Serve
We are curating a diverse group of individuals whose work reflects:
Diasporic creativity
Community organizing
Cultural stewardship
Advocacy and justice
Wellness and healing
Entrepreneurship
Art, music, and storytelling
Members will be invited based on their experience, community leadership, and shared commitment to our mission.
We look forward to introducing this inaugural group soon.
