Vendors wanted:

We have very limited spaces for:

2 hot food vendors (one vegan, one regular)
2-3 drink vendors (coffee, juices, tea)
2 dessert vendors
5 farmers market vendors with homemade/grown products
5 retail brands
2-4 Mental health/wellness practitioners and/or orgs
4 Grassroots education, activism, and advocacy orgs

Selection process

The Peoples Marketplace selects vendors based on how well their products are likely to sell with our audience and in the local area. We also limit overlap by offering category exclusivity, making sure vendors have a fair chance to succeed while meeting the needs of our diverse community.

How to be a vendor

To join you will need to:

Upon confirmation that you have been selected as a vendor we will send you an email with instructions on how to pay your booth fee
Booth assignments are provide 3-5 days before the event.

You will need to bring your own tables, tablecloths, and extension cords (minimum 50 feet)

All booth placement and size are assigned in advance by the organizers according to vendor needs and venue capacity.
Set up begins 60 minutes before listed start time, break down in 60 minutes after listed end time.
You can let us know if you have any special needs in the application below.

OUTISDE AREA

FOOD AREA: Drinks + desserts, food trucks, and vendors who will be cooking
- The Food area is in full sunlight until 8pm and you will need to bring your own tents or umbrella
FARMERS MARKET: Homegrown, artisanal food products

INDOOR WAREHOUSE

MAKERS MARKET: retail vendors + NGOs will be in a mostly indoor warehouse space with plenty of outlets.

Booth needs

Please share your needs so we can provide the best experience possible for you

Food Festival vendor booth size (only vendors cooking on site)

Vendors cooking on site will be in the outside. You are required to bring your own tables, tents, table cloth, and extension cords (min 100 ft)

Do you require access to power?

Note that you are required to bring your own extension cord. All cords must be taped down to the floor. We will not provide tape. We recommend at least 50 ft cords for indoor/courtyard vendors, and at least 100 ft for Food Festival vendors who are cooking on site.

Will you bring a tent?

We highly recommend tents for food vendors as you will be in direct sunlight. Sand bags/weights are required. Tents are also allowed indoors.

Publicity

TPM is a charity event that will only be successful through the publicity of our vendors! Do you agree to post about TPM at least once a week from now until the event? We appreciate if you post about the event afterwards as well!

Memorandum of Understanding

Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) Between Diaspora Peoples Place and Vendors at The Peoples Marketplace Purpose This MOU outlines a mutual understanding between Diaspora Peoples Place (DPP), organizer of The Peoples Marketplace (TPM), and participating vendors. It affirms shared values and expectations for a successful, respectful, and community-centered event. 1. Event Overview Name: The Peoples Marketplace (TPM) Organizer: Diaspora Peoples Place (DPP) Purpose: A decolonized community space to celebrate diaspora creativity, resistance, and joy through art, culture, and commerce. 2. Vendor Commitments By participating in TPM, vendors agree to: - Attend and set up during the designated load-in times provided by DPP. - Maintain a presence at their booth during official event hours. - Provide products or services that reflect ethical practices and cultural respect. - Follow safety, cleanliness, and community care guidelines shared in advance. - Promote the event via social media or email using TPM materials when possible. - Respect the spirit of TPM as a space centering justice, solidarity, and diasporic connection. 3. DPP Commitments Diaspora Peoples Place agrees to: - Provide an accessible, welcoming space for vendors and guests. - Offer logistical support, including communication of setup info and access needs. - Promote vendors and their offerings through TPM marketing efforts. - Uplift vendor voices as essential contributors to the spirit and purpose of the event. - Handle any issues with transparency and community-minded resolution. 4. Financial Agreement - Vendors pay a pre-agreed booth fee unless otherwise sponsored, bartered, or waived. - All sales belong to vendors; DPP does not take a percentage of profits. 5. Cancellation & Refund Policy - Vendors must notify DPP as soon as possible if they can no longer attend. - Refunds are not guaranteed and may be reviewed case-by-case, especially for late cancellations. 6. Mutual Respect & Accountability This is a shared space built on values of solidarity, respect, and care. DPP reserves the right to decline participation or request vendors leave the event if they act in ways that harm others, contradict community agreements, or disrupt the integrity of the space. 7. Duration This MOU is valid for the specific TPM event the vendor is participating in. By participating in The Peoples Marketplace, you agree to the terms outlined above.
